This week we had another request for a specialty grooms cakes…and it just so happened to be another request for edible footwear! This time we kept it close to home and made a good old fashioned North Carolina cowboy boot. The bride and groom loved the final product and we were so pleased to be a part of their big day.

Our large summer launch party was a Cuban fiesta filled with great friends, live music, and of course delicious food. Take a look through some of the photos from our big day:
Tomorrow we are officially launching the bakery with a kick off party.
Garbonzo Bean Salad
It is a Cuban themed event and it will be fully catered by us! We are serving black beans, rice, pork and chicken.Lots of yummy fruit, a garbanzo bean salad, and a number of delicious desserts.
We will also have a bar with Pomegranate Mojitos, Cuba Libres, Hemmingways and Homemade Sangria.
It will be a busy, busy day at the bakery but I will be sure to post pictures from the event in the coming week!
Backwards Bakery had our greatest challenge yet as we were asked to make a grooms cake, shaped like a sneaker…out of ice cream! The groom was a marathon runner who didn’t particularly care for cake and his fiance wanted to make his day a little more special with a Backwards Bakery creation. The following are a series of images of the production of this monstrous Asics running shoe!
